Kerry Wait

Head Junior Boarding

I have been in education for over 14 years. During this time I have held numerous middle and senior management positions, including grade head, housemaster and most recently Director of Discipline. I have spent my entire life and teaching career in South Africa at one of South Africa’s most prestigious boys’ boarding schools in Johannesburg. I see myself as being an extremely loyal and committed person both in my personal and professional lives. I met my wife, Heather whilst at school and have now been married for over 10 years. We have 2 beautiful children, Cameron and Rebecca. I, along with my wife enjoy a healthy, active life style and I am passionate about running and martial arts. This is something that I actively instil into my children as well as those that I teach.  I also enjoy playing the guitar. My family and their happiness are the foundation of my motivation, and I firmly believe that strong family units, founded on sound moral values, are the key to successful schools, organisations and societies the world over. It would be my goal to ensure that the junior boarding environment strives to achieve all of these and in so doing, provide the opportunity for the learners as well as the school to achieve ever increasing levels of success.

Heather Wait

Boarding Nurse

After finishing school I started a degree in biochemistry and zoology, not knowing exactly what I wanted to do. A friend invited me to see her workplace at a neonatal ICU and from there I was sold on nursing. The following year I changed my degree to a nursing science degree where I was exposed to all different types of nursing but still kept my love for babies and children. After finishing my 4-year professional nursing degree I went to work in a private hospital into a neonatal ICU. I worked in the neonatal ICU for 12 years where I completely loved my work with babies. I love working with children and their health is of the up most importance. I am married to Kerry and have two beautiful children.
